World without sound

I was on the train back home. Was feeling quite drowsy after some jugs at M Bar. Fortunately, I found a seat on the train and manage to rest my head against the wall comfortably. I was listening to my MP3 player and slept for awhile.

When I woke up, I realised that the people around me are talking. Not through mouth, but hand signal. There are many types of people communicating with each other. Some are young, innocent looking, some are wild with tattoos. Assuming that showing the middle finger means 'fuck you', I don't understand the rest of their conversation.

This incident made me realised that these people are from a different social class as us. I believe few abled people would despise them, but they choose to be a group by themselves. Besides, I see how these different type of people can come together and be friends because of their common disability.

I would very much like to talk to them but they wouldn't be able to hear me, I guess. Thus, this should be the boundary that set us worlds apart. After watching them, I feel the need for all abled people to learn sign language in order to bring these people back into the society. I hope that this way will allow them to feel more comfortable and able to mingle with the abled people.
